Here at Anderson Sobel Cosmetic Surgery, Bellevue cosmetic surgeon Dr. Alex Sobel offers a variety of both surgical and nonsurgical treatments to help undo the effects of aging. When it comes to addressing lost volume or creasing in the lower face for patients who aren’t ready for, or won’t benefit from, surgical intervention, we often recommend dermal filler injections.

Turn Back the Clock

Dermal fillers work by temporarily filling in areas where subcutaneous fat has been lost, resulting in smoothness, fewer lines and wrinkles, and improvement of a shallow or sunken appearance. Fillers can be used alone, in conjunction with BOTOX and other nonsurgical treatments, or to enhance the results of cosmetic procedures. Learn more about the dermal fillers we offer below:

BELOTERO BALANCE®

You can smile with confidence with BELOTERO, an injectable gel that helps smooth out moderate to severe fine lines and wrinkles around the lips and mouth. Treatment is quick, results appear within a few days, and you’ll enjoy your results for up to six months. Our patients love that their results look and feel natural—and that they can get right back to their busy lives after treatment.

Bellevue Juvéderm® Injections

For enhancing the size and shape of your lips and reducing the appearance of deep nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines from the mouth to the chin, and vertical lip lines, we most often recommend Juvéderm. This hyaluronic acid filler effectively restores volume to the mid-face to smooth out lines, enhance your lips, and create a youthful profile.

Vycross technology, courtesy of the Allergan AbbVie Corporation, are fascinating materials, but they create a lot of confusion. Members of this class of fillers include Voluma, Volbella, Vollure, and most recently, Volux, with probably more to come, such as Volite. In medicine, you couldn’t get away with naming things so similarly, as the FDA wouldn’t allow it. However, these are implantable devices, and what’s interesting about them is that they have subtle differences in how they are constructed and how they perform both outside the body but also inside the body.

This latest addition to the Allergan portfolio, Volux, at first glance, may seem like a “me too” to Voluma. As a brief refresher, Voluma is FDA-indicated for the midface and cheek area, providing volume lift without puffiness. It features a high G Prime, and that means it is relatively stiff without being hard. It offers a lot of lift, does not recruit much water to the area, and yields very natural results for people of all ages in the midface. Voluma also works well for chins and jawlines in off-label applications.

Now, we have Volux, which is even a bit firmer in its technical data, but performs under the skin almost like a perfect chin implant. Its consistency is similar to soft, solid silicone and doesn’t exhibit the non-specific volume gain that Voluma can produce. For example, with cheeks, you want roundness, but chins aren’t meant to be round. If you pushed Voluma too far, you’d get a rounded chin, so you had to limit its use. Now, with Volux, which carries a jawline indication, it excels at creating lift without that round, spherical effect, making it ideal for use along the jawline and not just the chin. It also works well for the angle of the jaw and other applications throughout the face.

Juvéderm VOLLURE™

The latest product to join the Juvéderm family, VOLLURE is a long-lasting solution for smoothing deep smile lines around the nose and mouth. The first of its kind, VOLLURE was specifically designed to reduce the appearance of moderate to severe nasolabial folds for up to 18 months—nearly double the amount of time as other similar fillers developed for these areas!

“Dr Sobel also did Botox and filler injections for me. As a trained, certified, and experienced injectable RN I am extremely picky about who I allow to do this. Dr Sobel is the best I have ever seen.”
