Dr. Sobel has been helping me with my gender transition ftm for half a year now and i couldn’t be happier. As a trans person I have had a lot of experience speaking to surgeons about my aesthetic goals for my transition and often the experince i (and other trans people) receive is the doctor will “tell” me what i need, versus actually listening to me. It is very invalidating and often i feel like my feelings about my gender presentation are never heard–rather, the doctors approach feels like a mechanic fixing a car and if i get “abc” surgeries Ill look the way they–the doctor–thinks i want to look like, often according to their bais on gender aesthetics. Dr. Sobel was the first surgeon that actually sat down and asked me to explain what i feel i want for my gender presentation. He didnt speak over me or talk “at me” about what i “should” get, instead he was actually very considerate and asked me a lot of questions to better understand on how he can help. He made me feel a lot less anxious about pursuing facial masculinization procedures… as trans people often deal with a lot of daily unrelenting dysphoria, and should i getting a procedure that makes me even “more” dysphoric is always a concern. Instead Dr. Sobel told me we would go slow and change my face over time with small increments to avoid too much drastic change at once and to assess my facial changes along the way. He made sure to inform me fillers can be dissolved and therefore i would have an “out” if i need it and was always very helpful with information about gender facial biology and how i can improve my facial transition within the harmony of face. i feel very comfortable and trusting with continuing my facial mascilinization journey and have yet to feel any dysphoric response to his therapies. But most of all Dr. Sobel has a great deal of empathy and care for trans people and generally wants to help make me feel comfortable and affirming in my body. And to a trans person, trust in a medical professional that wants to help them reach their goals and cares about their mental health and well being is a rare thing which i charish very much. I know transgender affirming facial aesthetics are still a “new” art in the world of cosmetic surgery but i thank Dr. Sobel for joining me on this journey.

I’ve been going to Dr. Sobel for years for Botox. He really is the best I have encountered and doesn’t try to up sell you on procedures you think you need but don’t. I told him I was worried about my skin looking old and the bags under my eyes. Instead of suggesting another procedure he said I should drink more water and get more sleep! I appreciate him so much and his lovely staff

I was really nervous when I reached out to Anderson Sobel for a tummy tuck but after my consultation, Dr.Sobel listened to my concerns and made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire process and never once did I feel body shamed. Dr. Sobel and his staff are all very kind and professional and I couldn’t be happier with my results from my tummy tuck with liposuction that I got almost a year ago. I’m excited for bikini season!
